‘The Witcher 2’ Xbox One Version Confirmed; Release Date Announced?
"The Witcher 2" is Xbox One version is coming via the backwards compatibility feature, according to Gaming Bolt.
"The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings" is an action role-playing game with a hack and slash feature. The game was developed by the Polish studio CD Projekt RED. It is the second game of the "The Witcher" game franchise. The game was launched for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, OS X and Linus. The game was released for the PC on May 17, 2011 and for the Xbox 360 on April 17, 2012.
"The Witcher 2" Xbox One game will now be coming to said console through the backwards compatibility feature. CD Projekt Red's Marcin Momot has tweeted that the game will be coming to the latest Microsoft console soon, according to Segment Next.
"It's coming but we don't have any dates to share yet," said Momot in response to a question on Twitter. "Please stay tuned for the official announcement."
There is still no official announcement on when the players can play the previous "Witcher" game, according to Gamespot. The demand for the game to be playable on the Xbox One is high with 33,000 votes on the Xbox Feedback site.
Meanwhile, there are about 104 Xbox 360 games that are playable on the Xbox One right now with the backwards compatibility feature since it rolled out last November. Microsoft is planning to update the Xbox 360 library every month.
"You'll hear about December's lineup soon," tweeted Microsoft's Mike Ybarra.
There was one feature of "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings" that fans loved and that was the Arena. A fan asked Momot on Twitter if the feature will be available on "The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt."
"No plans for this," responded Momot in a tweet. "Sorry."
Fans will have to wait for the second "Witcher" game to becom backward compatible to enjoy the Arena feature once again, according to sources.
