'The Perfect Time': BigHit Music Confirms BTS Members To Enlist In The Military Starting With Jin
The day has come, the members of K-Pop superstar boy group is confirmed to be enlisting in the South Korean military soon.
HYBE announced on October 17 that the members of BTS: RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, have decided to fulfill their mandatory military service.
"After the phenomenal concert to support Busan's bid for the World Expo 2030, and as each individual [member] embark on solo endeavours, it's the perfect time," HYBE Labels through BigHit Music announced on Monday.
The K-Pop label also noted that the members of BTS are "honored to serve" their country.
"Since the creation of BTS over ten years ago, the band has risen to international success, broken record, and catapulted K-Pop into the global stratosphere. BigHit Music has focused to the milestone moment when it would be possible to respect the needs of the country and for these healthy young men to serve with their countrymen, and that's now," BigHit Music said.
Furthermore, BigHit Music revealed that BTS member Jin will be the first member to fulfill his military service obligation, noting that prior to his enlistment, the idol will have a solo release by the end of October.
"Group member Jin will initiate the process as soon as his schedule for his solo release is concluded at the end of October." He will then follow the enllistment procedure of the Korean government," BigHit revealed.
Meanwhile, BigHit also shared that the other BTS members "plan to carry out their military service based on their own individual plans."
To address the worries of ARMYs, BigHit said, "Both the company and the members of BTS are looking forward to reconvening as a group again around 2025 following their service commitment."
BigHit ended its official statement with a promise to ARMYs that "there's much more yet to come in the years ahead from BTS."
