The British Fashion Awards 2015 honors renowned fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld, while Jordan Dunn bags the Model of the Year accolade.

The fashion world's most familiar faces have gathered at the historic London Coliseum Tuesday night, at the British Fashion Awards 2015, according to CNN.

Since 1989, this annual event celebrates international contributions of British fashion designers and figures.

Editor-in-chief of "American Vogue," Anna Wintour presented an overdue "Outstanding Achievement Award" to Karl Lagerfeld during the British Fashion Awards 2015.

"Karl and I have shared many extraordinary moments over the years, and I'd gladly share a few of them with you, if it weren't for the fact that Karl, of all people, would be horrified," said Anna Wintour.

Wintour and Lagerfeld rarely smile in public, but their friendship that which extends outside fashion is actually rather sweet, revealed NY Mag.

The "Vogue" editor-in-chief shared how Karl Lagerfeld built her a tennis court in his property on the French coast before her visit, to make her feel at home.

"That's what his clothing does for millions of women each day, so I suppose that generosity should not have surprised me," added Wintour.

30 British labels like "Victoria Beckham", "Topshop Unique", "Paul Smith", "Burberry", "Astrid Andersen" and "Christopher Kane" paraded on stage while Alison Moyet sang, "Only You," shared WWD.

Other guests at 2015's "British Fashion Awards" were, Georgia May Jagger, Kate Moss, Liv Tyler, Poppy Delevingne, Salma Hayek Pinault, David Beckham and Karlie Kloss.

Designer JW Anderson won both "menswear" and "womenswear designer of the year". This is the first time a designer has won both categories in the same year.

Anderson's strong competitors for the awards were Christopher Kane and Victoria Beckham for womenswear, Tom Ford and E Tautz for menswear, reported The Guardian.

Arguably an undisputable trendsetter for both collections, the Northern Irish designer is only 31 years old.

JW Anderson pioneered ideas seasons before the rest of the fashion world caught up. He focused on the 80's while other designers were still looking at the Seventies.

Other winners at this year's "British Fashion Awards" are Jordan Dunn, winning "model of the year", "brand of the year" went to Stella McCartney and the "red carpet designer of the year award", was bagged by Tom Ford. Ford was not present at the ceremony.
