SBS on ‘Dr. Romantic’ Season 3: Nothing Has Been Decided Yet

Expectations are high for the third installment of "Dr. Romantic."

The reports from various Korean media sites point out that production for the third season of "Dr. Romantic" is set to begin next year. Actors Han Suk Kyu and Ahn Hyo Seop are also returning for season 3 of "Dr. Romantic."

It was also reported that director Yoo In Shik who lead the first two seasons of "Dr. Romantic" will also be returning for the K-drama's third season. The reports also point out that the target schedule for the premiere of the drama is in Winter 2022.

However, the network that is behind the drama "Dr. Romantic" was quick to clarify the reports. As a response, SBS explained that discussions for the third installment of "Dr. Romantic" are in the process.

"Currently, we are in the stage of starting discussions regarding the third season of the drama 'Dr. Romantic'," an SBS official told Maeil Business Star Today.

Furthermore, the SBS official has also clarified the reports regarding Han Suk Yu and Ahn Hyo Seop's return for the third season of "Dr. Romantic."

"Nothing has been decided yet," an SBS official commented.

The first season of "Dr. Romantic" first aired in November 2016. "Dr. Romantic 1" was directed by Yu In Shik and Park Soo Jin and was written by Kang Eun Kyung. 

The first installment of "Dr. Romantic" introduces to us Dr. Kim, played by Han Suk Kyu, who calls himself the romantic doctor. Starring alongside Han Suk Kyu for "Dr. Romantic 1" are Yoo Yeon Seok, Seo Hyun Jin, Kim Hong Fa, Jin Kyung, Kim Min Jae, and Yang Se Jong among many others.

Meanwhile, the second season of "Dr. Romantic" features two new characters played by Ahn Hyo Seop and Lee Sung Kyung.
