14th Anniversary Of 9/11 Attacks In New York

A Thanksgiving Dinner is arguably the year's single-handedly most work-intensive meal. For a hassle-free dining experience this holiday, head to one of the "best" restaurants in the city, open on Thanksgiving day, according to TimeOut.

John McDonald's the "Bowery Meat Company" is a grandiose, mid-century steakhouse. This is where Chef Josh Capon serves big-portioned steaks with spinach and various forms of potatoes on the side. A meal for one may be around $96.

Head to "La Pecora Bianca" for locally sourced ingredients in-season like spiced walnuts and bleu cheese dressing with shaved carrots on a kale salad, and a pumpkin tortolloni rolled around paremsan cheese and butternut squash. The cost is$65 at restauraeur, Mark Barak's sophomore venture.

For others who are wishing for a Portuguese feast, one of the restaurants open on Thanksgiving is George Mendes' "Lupulo." This gastropub takes inspiration from Lisbon's beer-soaked cervejarias. A $65 dollar feast includes a roasted whole turkey, with morcilla sausage stuffing.

They also serve less traditional starters like a mackerel pâté smeared on toast with smoked king salmon roe. One option for dessert is their sheep's milk cheescake with candied concord grapes.

For a traditional All-American turkey dinner, head to "Alexandra - NYC" for free range, organic turkey served from an Amish Farm in Pennsylvania. While dining, guests can enjoy listening jazz and country music, revealed OpenTable.

You can join "Alvin and Friends" on Thanksgiving Day where from 12 noon to 6 p.m., a traditional Southern thanksgiving buffet is served. Meal costs $35 for adults and for children below 12 years old, $15. Beverage, tax and gratuity not included.

California chef Jonathan Waxman's "Jams" features newfangled creations like Maine lobster gnocchis and cheddar-bacon burgers. Turkey breast is plated alongside braised turkey leg on sourdough bread pudding.

Additional sides like sweet potato casserole and brussels sprouts gratin come in large portions. A meal for children six to 12 years old costs $45, for adults $85 and free for children five years old and under.

Meanwhile, another restarant open on Thanksgiving is "Bouley," where David and his team is serving a six-course menu for $175, with optional wine pairings for $105. Guests can expect dishes madewith seasonal ingredients from local purveyors , revealed the New York Eater.
