Goo Hye Sun Chooses Actress Ahn Seo Hyun To Lead Movie ‘DARK YELLOW’
Last month, it was announced that the "Boys Over Flowers" star will be returning to the big screen through her self-directed film "Dark Yellow."
"Goo Hye Sun will be both acting and directing for the movie 'DARK YELLOW' which is scheduled to begin filming this June" MIMI Entertainment announced.
According to previous reports, Goo Hye Sun's "Dark Yellow" will revolve around a woman who works in a yellow flower shop. A strange man then starts to take an interest in her and went on to invade her privacy. Goo Hye Sun also shared through her Instagram that "Dark Yellow" will be a horror melodrama that will tackle women's fears around physical "power."
"Dark Yellow" will be produced in partnership with Wadiz and through this movie, Goo Hye Sun hopes that she will be able to communicate with her fans and audiences.
Meanwhile, Goo Hye Sun recently announced that she chose actress Ahn Seo Hyun to play the lead role for "Dark Yellow." Goo Hye Sun also shared that Ahn Seo Hyun was the first actress to come to her mind as the lead actress for her movie.
Ahn Seo Hyun received attention through various appearances on Bong Joon Ho's "Okja (2017)," Im Sang Soo's "The Maid (2010)," and Joo Beom Koo's "God's Move (2014)."
On the other hand, Ahn Seo Hyun expressed that as she talked with Goo Hye Sun she felt they had a lot in common.
"We talked about other things besides the movie and I began to like Goo Hye Sun as a person and decided to take on the role," Ahn Seo Hyun expressed.
The crowdfunding project's advance funding for the movie "Dark Yellow" started last May 17. Additionally, the official campaign period started on May 31 and will end this June 30.
"Dark Yellow" is not the first short film project by Goo Hye Sun. She has been an active director since 2009 and has her own production company, "Goo Hye Sun Film." Prior to "Dark Yellow," Goo Hye Sun's last project was the short film "Mystery Pink" in 2018.
