100 Million Pieces of ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba’ Canned Coffee Sold

A Japanese soft drink company DyDo Drinco Inc released "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" canned coffee that come with 28 different designs that fans can collect. In a recent report, the company successfully sold more than 100 million cans as of March 2021.

President of DyDo Group Holding Inc., Tomiya Takamatsu said in an interview in a local newspaper, "To be honest, it was a hit beyond our expectations. It was a shock, a very happy one."

On the first three weeks of the coffee's launch, around 50 million cans were immediately sold.

Last weekend, it was reported by anime licensing company and streaming platform Funimation that "Demon Slayer - Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Movie: Mugen Train" is now the #2 anime film of all time the United States. The film has earned US$43,956,487 as of last weekend beating the gross sales of "Pokemon: The First Movie" that earned US$43,758,684 21 years ago.

In "Demon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train," movie, Tanjiro and the group have completed the rehabilitation training at the Butterfly Mansion, and they arrive on their next mission on the Mugen Train, where over 40 people have disappeared in a very short period of time. Tanjiro and Nezuko, along with Zenitsu and Inosuke, join one of the most powerful swordsmen within the Demon Slayer Corps, Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, to face the demon aboard the Mugen Train on track to despair.

The latest stats in the website Numbers revealed that it is currently the #1 film worldwide.  It has officially surpassed the gross earnings of Studio Ghibli's animated masterpiece, "Spirited Away," as the #1 highest-earning Japanese film of all time worldwide. "Spirited Away" earned 30.8 billion yen in the Japanese box office during its original run.

4DX and IMAX screenings of "Mugen Train" are also confirmed. It will also be released in digital and home video releases. For digital release, it will be available on June 22 and will be distributed on Google Play, Microsoft Store, Vudu, PlayStation, Amazon, and Apple TV.
