Mnet dropped their silence over rumors of a said conflict between them and Starship Entertainment, saying that these are all false and nothing but rumors being circulated online.

MNet reached out to a media outlet on March 31, saying that the running time for "M Countdown" will be shorted. They were currently in talks with the group Cosmic Girls in regards to their comeback stage. The girls reached out to the network that they want to perform two songs for their comeback. Due to limited running time, the production staff was able to accommodate them. Cosmic Girls then said that they would take a rain check. There's no truth in a conflict between the two parties involved.

"M Countdown" announced on March 30 that Cosmic Girls would be part of its line-up for this week's episode. However, many have raised eyebrows and became skeptical after it reposted a teaser 6 hours latest without the group.

Just in this year alone, Mnet has been a talk of many in the K-pop community due to the network announcing the official disbandment of IZ*ONE. This decision to no longer renews the group's contract was made by Mnet, Swing Entertainment, and Off The Record in early March. IZ*ONE will officially disband in April.

Mnet's official announcement of IZ* ONE's disbandment left fans emotional on social media as the group's fate has been sealed. Many hope that their management and label would consider giving them another project or contract to keep this popular girl unit to continue performing. A two-day online concert called "ONE, THE STORY" happened on March 13 and 14. This was the group's one last performance before they officially part ways.

Cosmic Girls (also known as WJSN) is a South Korean-Chinese girl group that debut in 2016 and managed by Starship Entertainment. The group composes of the following members: Seola, Xuanyi, Bona, Exy, Soobin, Luda, Dawon, Eunseo, Cheng Xiao, Meiqi, Yeoreum, Dayoung and Yeonjung. Their songs are under K-pop, Mandopop, Bubblegum pop, and synthpop.
