Video Catches BTS’s Reaction After Losing At 2021 Grammy Awards
A short video clip of BTS taken during the announcement of winners at the 2021 Grammy Awards is now circulating on various social media platforms.
The said video showed the reaction of the members of the popular Korean boy band when their group's name was not mentioned as the winner in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category.
The much-talked-about video was uploaded on the official Twitter account of BTS several hours after the awarding ceremony. The seven members of the boy band were seen sitting close to each other as they patiently waited for the official announcement. They can also be heard shouting while the nominees were being presented.
However, when their group's name was not announced as the winner, they just laughed, clapped, and even hugged each other as a way to recognize the fact that they were defeated by the powerful collaboration of Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.
In the comments section of the viral Twitter post, famous Filipina singer Lea Salonga commended the members of BTS for showing a "class act." She even mentioned that the supporters of the said boy band are very proud.
"You guys are such a class act, even at that moment. Army is proud, because of the music you make and how you make everyone feel. Thank you!" she quipped.
As of the time of writing, the video already has more than 8 million views. More than 500 thousand netizens also retweeted it.
Meanwhile, it was previously reported that some netizens did not agree with the decision of Grammys to give the award to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande. They claimed that BTS deserved the award more than anyone else. The hashtag "Scammy" even became a trending topic on Twitter for a couple of days. Netizens said that the Korean group was taken advantage of.
