United States of America's House of Representatives approves the US $1.9 trillion Covid-19 relief Bill, on Wednesday (March 10) that aims to boost the economy and provide aid to millions of Americans affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Bill, which is considered as one of the largest economic stimulus actions in US history, has won the approval of the House by 220-211 votes after weeks of debates and wrangling in the Congress that is a Democratic-controlled chamber.

In a Twitter post, US President Joe Biden wrote, "Help is here," as he is expected to sign the Bill on Friday (March 12), according to the White House.

The Democratic Party - the political party of President Biden, believes that this Bill is a critical step to address the Coronavirus pandemic that has crippled the country's economy, killing 528,000 people and helping millions who had lost their jobs due to the pandemic.

Democratic Representative Jan Schakowsky said that this is a historic day for America, "It is the beginning of the end of the great COVID depression."

The Republicans, on the other hand, believed that the measure is "too costly" and is of full unnecessary progressive priorities since the worst phase of the health crisis had already passed and that the economy is starting to recover.

Only one member of the Democratic Party did not vote for the Bill. Jared Golden, Representative from Maine, believes that it poses risks and the high cost endangers recovery.

"Borrowing and spending hundreds of billions more in excess of meeting the most urgent needs poses a risk to both our economic recovery and the priorities I would like to work with the Biden administration to achieve," Golden added.

Regardless of the doubt of some lawmakers and the other political party, a survey says around 70 percent of Americans are supporting the plan no matter which political party they support.

With the Covid-19 relief Bill now approved, other major legislation that President Biden aims to push is massive infrastructure projects, reforms for immigration, and climate change initiatives.
