Every year and in each of its editions, the Miss Universe Organization selects a country and city where it will host the pageant.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no Miss Universe pageant was held last year, with their affiliate, the Miss USA 2020 pageant, being held later that year from being conducted usually at spring or summertime.

Pageant fans online circulated a Facebook post announcing that the upcoming Miss Universe pageant is bound to be conducted in the city known as "The Gateway to the Americas," Miami in Florida. The photo came from netizen Shan Ddy Budx and his source, another netizen named @DanyDiGiacomo.

Earlier, there were also rumors saying that the world's most prestigious pageant will be held on May 16th. However, no official confirmation from the Miss Universe Organization has neither officially announced the date and the venue of the pageant.

Facebook user John Jake commented on the post, translated, "If this is legitimate, there is a 90 percent chance a Latina will win."

South Africa's Zozibini Tunzi, the incumbent Miss Universe winner, will crown her successor at the event. Thus far, only less than 70 delegates are selected, one of the fewest in the history of the pageant.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old former Miss Universe 2017 contestant who hails from Singapore has been jailed a few weeks ago for illegal shopping. According to the report on Channel News Asia, Ashley Rita Wong Kai Lin allegedly used the debit cards of her friends to illegally purchase online.

She has pleaded guilty to four charges under the Computer Misuse and Cybersecurity Act, alongside 27 other charges hurled against her being taken into consideration for sentencing.

Ashley Rita Wong Kai Lin had gone out with her victim, a 28-year-old man after she broke up with her boyfriend, the report said. The former Miss Universe delegate allegedly took her victim's debit card, getting the details and using it to purchase items online.
