Last January 27, IU, one of South Korea's most famous and renowned artists, released her new song, "Celebrity." The song had very impressive numbers on digital sales, and during that time, she topped the Billboard K-Pop 100 chart peaking at number one last February 6. As of writing this article, for the second straight week, IU is still making headlines as she is still on Billboard K-Pop 100's list.

But this week, aside from once again getting the highest digital sales, she also reigned with the highest number of streams.

The titular singer-songwriter and actor made her debut in 2008, as she released her first album, "Growing Up". Since then, IU has bagged the highest number of number one songs in South Korea with her record-breaking twenty-four number-one songs on Gaon Digital Chart and a plethora on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100. Additionally, IU has had 23 #1 songs on Melon and has the most number of weeks at number 1, that being 52, with many more records under her belt.

IU is not a stranger to breaking records and incredible feats. Not so long ago, in 2019, IU broke the record for the highest number of first-day sales, 5831, by a female artist with her then fresh-released song "Love Poem."

Even now, IU is an even bigger South Korean and international sensation as she breaks more records and stays longer on the charts. From the range of her notes to the deepness of her songs' messages, fans flock to whatever the Nation's Little Sister produces.

Presently, IU has been confirmed to be a part of the cast of "Broker," along with other notable Korean stars. IU has had recent acting roles on K-Drama series such as "Hotel Del Luna" and "My Mister," both being available on Netflix.

With all of the success IU gets, it is truly safe to say that everything she is a part of will always get global.
