Actor Song Joong-Ki Donated 100 Million Korean Won To Fight Covid-19

Song Joong-Ki has the warmest heart this winter. The "Descendants of the Sun" star has reportedly donated 100 million Korean Won for the frontline medical staff working to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

On January 7th, Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association shared the good deed done by the actor. According to the association, Song Joong-ki gave the donation in order to provide cold protection supplies to all the medical workers at the new coronavirus infection screening clinic.

The 100 million won donation will be used to purchase heating equipment for the outdoor screening clinics where swab tests and coronavirus screenings are administered by medical frontliners who are working hard despite the struggle brought upon by the strong cold.

In February of last year, it was also reported that Song Joong-ki had also donated 100 million won to the Hope Bridge Association to be used in the ongoing fight to overcome the pandemic. Aside from that, the actor had also donated 50 million won in August 2020 for the victims of heavy rain. 

On the other hand, Song Joong-ki's science fiction film "Space Sweepers," directed by Jo Seung-hee, is set to hit the global streaming platform, Netflix, this February. Starring together with Song Joong-Ki is actress Kim Tae-ri. The film "Space Sweepers" was to be released in mid-2020, but due to the coronavirus global pandemic, it was postponed.

In addition, the Korean actor-superstar is currently filming TvN's upcoming Saturday drama "Vincenzo." Directed by Kim Hee-won, "Vincenzo" is scheduled to be broadcasted starting this February following the "Queen Iron Man." 

"Vincenzo" is one of the most highly anticipated dramas this 2021. It describes the story of an Italian mafia lawyer who came to Korea due to a betrayal. Joining Song Joong-ki in this upcoming drama are Jeon Yeo-bin, Ok Taek-yeon, and Yoo Jae-myeong.
