A rookie boy group member has received many praises for his impressive singing in the most recent episode of "The King of Masked Singer."

Nicknamed High School Third Year, the singer won over many hearts with his rendition of Lee Sung Chul's "My Love" but failed to advance to the next round after losing to Music Note's version of Sam Kim's. "My Love." He lost by only three votes. After his unmasking, the singer was revealed to be none other than Bang Yedam. He was a contestant in the second season of "K-pop Star," where he emerged as the runner-up to the winner and co-label mate Akdong Musician. He has recently debuted as a member of TREASURE, YG's newest boy group, who debuted just this August.

Speaking to the panel, he shared that he has been a trainee for seven years and that the show was one of his favorites. He thought that he would like to guest on the show when he debuts. He was even able to receive advice from Kang Seungyoon of Winner, who was crowned as the Mask King for six weeks early this year. He also cited his parents as his inspiration, as they were both musicians. His father even sang the theme song of MBC.

Sandara Park, Yedam's labelmate, already recognized his voice from the get-go. After he was eliminated, she shared that it would have been really great to have seen more of his talent on-stage. She was looking forward to seeing him sing an R&B song as Yedam was someone that people, from singers to producers from YG, had a lot of respect for. She further asked everyone to show him and his group TREASURE lots of love.

Meanwhile, TREASURE continues to show just how good they are by winning not just the Best New Male Artist Award in MAMA 2020, but also be included in the Worldwide Fans' Choice Top 10, the only rookie group to win in that category.
