EXO member Kai has finally debuted as a solo artist with the release of his album "Kai" and the music video for the title track "Mmmh".

Before the official release, he held a press conference for the media. The emcee of the event was none other than fellow EXO member Baekhyun. He explained how the title of the album "Kai" means "to open" and how he wants it to affect the public. He claimed to be really involved in all aspects of the preparation, personally picking all the songs that will be included.

He also held a solo debut countdown on V Live where he could communicate more with fans as they all excitedly waited for the album to drop. It was a fun time as Kai shared his journey in preparing for the album.

But things got emotional as the singer proceeded to read encouraging letters from his fans. They all expressed their happiness at his solo debut, which took eight years in the making. Some of the fans even said they were only students when they first became a fan of Kai, and now they are members of society. Kai proceeded to say that he was also just a student when he debuted in EXO, and now he is just happy to be able to share his work and to spend time with the fans.

One particular story brought Kai to a full-blown crying jag in front of the camera. The fan talked about her happiness in seeing Kai on "I Live Alone" and how Kai has been her strength to help relieve her from stress as a student. She wished luck for Kai's debut and also asked for luck in return as she is going to take her college entrance exam too. Amidst his crying, the sweet artist did not forget to wish good luck to his loyal fan.
