Netflix has been taking viewers to a different level of experience with new movies and shows for streaming each month. This December, five new Netflix series are coming your way.

"Bridgerton" is a historical romance that will certainly be part of social media trends. It is the latest project of Shonda Rhimes on Netflix. The story takes place in 1813 during the Regency Era in London, and is based on the Julia Quinn series with the same name. Julie Andrews voices the narrator. It launches on Netflix on Christmas, December 25th.

You can also save the date on December 4th to watch "Selena: The Series Part 1," telling the story of Selena Quintanilla and her life journey before becoming the Queen of Tejano Music. She was from Texas, and since she was young has shown potential for music. She journeyed from singing small gigs to becoming one of the successful Latin artists of all time. The series features actors Christian Serratos, Gabriel Chavarria, Noemí Gonzalez, Ricardo Chavira, and Seidy López.

This next new series will have you at the edge of your seats. "The Surgeon's Cut" releasing on December 9th is a docuseries that profiles four talented surgeons. Viewers will see how they perform the operations and procedures upon patients. Each of the individual stories will enlighten the viewer on the intricacies of a person's health, and how breakthroughs and new discoveries reinvent the way treatment is done.

On December 18th, "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" debuts on Netflix to take the audience in a serious tension between Rainey, portrayed by Viola Davis, and Levee, reprised by Boseman when white management leads the music industry. Rainey is a successful blues icon while Levee is her trumpeter.

You can also get to watch "Tiny Pretty Things" described to be the blend of "Pretty Little Liars" and "Black Swan." It is set in the elite, at times dark, world of ballet. It is based on a novel of the same time written by Dona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton. It features a ballerina's quest for perfection in such a competitive landscape.
