Red Velvet Will Have A Comeback Soon, But Netizens Have Mixed Reaction To The News
SM Entertainment's CEO has announced that girl group Red Velvet will be having a comeback soon but some netizens are not happy about it.
CEO Lee Sung Soo made the announcement during the COMEUP 2020 start-up festival a few days ago. He did allude to the scandal that involved member Irene saying that there was a bit of controversy the month before and that they apologized. He also promised that Red Velvet would be back with a more mature appearance.
But his statements did not sit well with many netizens, especially with his use of words that it was just a little controversial. To many, it seems that the CEO did not see it as that bad, downplaying the feelings of not just those who made the complaint, but also of the fans, who were distressed with the news.
Irene was embroiled in an issue last month when a photoshoot editor revealed that she had an attitude problem. The member admitted her mistake and said that she had personally gone to the editor and apologized. Calls for Irene to leave the group were made by some netizens, citing that her scandal would hurt the image of the group. But many also defended her, saying that there are more people who have done worse but were not asked to leave the group.
