BTS Revelation: Will RM, Jimin, Jin, V, Jungkook, J-Hope And Suga Take A Break After 'BE' Album Release?
BTS continues to dominate the world with their record-breaking songs and sold-out concerts. In fact, Suga, Jimin, Jungkook, Jin, RM, J-Hope, and V are expected to smash reach new milestones anew after the launching of the much-awaited "BE" album.
However, many fans of the phenomenal South Korean boyband have raised concerns about the group's future as some of its members are set to start their military service soon. In November 2019, Culture Minister Park Yang Woo revealed that BTS members and other K-pop stars would not be excepted from the country's mandatory military draft.
"In the case of BTS, I personally wish I could allow exemptions for them under certain standards, but the Military Manpower Administration and the Ministry of National Defense [in charge of conscription] are inclined to downsize the overall scope [of exemption]," Minister Park said at the time.
Luckily, recent reports suggested that things could change for BTS after South Korea's Defense Commission passes the "BTS Military Service Act." The said law allows pop culture artists to delay their military service.
Both the ruling and opposition parties agreed with the bill. They discussed how to choose the exceptional people in the field of pop culture or those who can be recognized as individuals who greatly contributed to enhancing the national dignity and status.
"Through meticulous examination of the bill, the irrational system was boldly improved, and legislation that could contribute to the promotion of national interests was cooperated bipartisanly without distinction between the parties," Defense Commissioner Min Hong Cheol shared. The said amendments will be put into effect as soon as they are passed through the plenary session.
BTS Jin, during a press conference ahead of the "BE" album release, talked about their plans on military enlistment. The "Life Goes On" singer stated that he would respond willingly should the country calls for his help. He even revealed that all BTS members have been talking about their imminent enlistment, and they all agreed that they want to serve in the military.
Meanwhile, reports say that RM, Jimin, Jin, V, Jungkook, J-Hope, and Suga are likely to take a break after the release of the "BE" album. Speculations have it that the group intended to release a second album this year as they are unlikely to do so in 2021 since some members could start their mandatory military service by then.
However, it should be noted that BTS has yet to make an announcement about it. So, avid followers of the group should take these rumors lightly until everything is proven true and correct.
