BLACKPINK Comeback 2019: Lisa Impresses Fans With First Teaser Image For Upcoming Album + BLACKPINK's New YouTube Milestone
BLACKPINK is joining the list of K-pop acts to make a comeback next month. The female group has dropped the first ever teaser for their upcoming album and it featured Lisa.
YG Entertainment stocks shoot up rapidly after the release of the first teaser for the BLACKPINK's comeback. The label's stock has slightly recovered after it plummeted amidst the scandals surrounding former BIGBANG member Seungri.
In the teaser poster, Lisa is dressed in a navy blue suit paired with chain choker. The poster has confirmed the release date of the album and also suggested that it will be titled, Kill This Love. This will be BLACKPINK's first comeback since Square Up and its hit track "DDU-DU DDU-DU" last summer.
The new BLACKPINK album will be released on April 5 ahead of the North America leg of their BLACKPINK In Your Area 2019 world tour which will kick off on April 17. The K-pop female group is also set to take the stage of the upcoming 2019 Coachella Music Festival in California next month.
Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé had also finished the filming for the music video for their comeback. YG Entertainment has yet to provide any details about the upcoming album but teased that "Kill This Love" is more powerful than "DDU-DU DDU-DU."
"BLACKPINK worked with four world-class choreographers for this comeback, so the choreography for this comeback will be more dynamic than any other BLACKPINK song before," Koreaboo quoted YG Entertainment as saying.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK has achieved a new milestone on YouTube. The video sharing platform has announced that the girl group is the first K-pop act to hit 20 million subscribers on their official channel. So far, there are only 20 artists to achieve such a feat.
Additionally, BLACKPINK also took the second spot in this month's brand reputation rankings for idol groups. The four-member female group garnered with brand reputation indexes of 8,289,376. BTS maintained its position at No. 1 with a brand reputation index of 16,953,385 while new JYP female group ITZY is at the third spot with 6,788,007.
BLACKPINK recently made their U.S. TV debut with a performance of "DDU-DU DDU-DU" on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. They also appeared in Good Morning America.
