BLACKPINK is indeed taking America by storm. The YG Entertainment K-pop female group has received a nomination from the Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards.

Rosé, Jisoo, Jennie and Lisa got a nod for the Favorite Global Music Star category of the Kids' Choice Awards. The group is nominated for Asia. Other nominees are Davido for Africa, Troye Sivan for Australia/New Zealand, David Guetta for Europe, J Balvin for Latin America, HRVY for U.K. and Taylor Swift for North America.

Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards introduced the Favorite Global Music Star category in 2017. The first K-pop group that was nominated in the category was BIGBANG. BTS is the first Korean act to win the award in 2018.

Voting for the awards show is now open through the Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards official website and social media accounts. The awards night will be held on March 23. DJ Khaled will host the event.

YG Entertainment has yet to confirm if BLACKPINK will be able to attend the event. The group will wrap up the Asia leg of their BLACKPINK In Your Area 2019 world tour on March 3 before they will kick off the North America leg of the tour on April 17.

Earlier this month, BLACKPINK dropped the tour dates for the North America leg of their world tour. It will start in Los Angeles on April 17, in between the two weekends of Coachella festival, where the quartet is also slated to perform.

BLACKPINK is expected to perform their new songs in their U.S. concert tour. YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun-Suk earlier announced on Instagram that they are planning to release BLACKPINK's new EP in March. Yang also teased that there is a lot in store for the girl group this year as he shared a photo of him along with Universal Music Group Chairman Lucian Grainge and Interscope Records Chairman John Janick earlier this year.

The four-member K-pop act made their U.S. TV show debut when they performed their hit single "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du" on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. They also performed at the Universal Music's annual Grammy Artist Showcase.
