EXO member Lay has been invited to attend the 61st Annual Grammy Awards in the U.S. The singer has been confirmed to hit the red carpet and watch the event.

The China Music Vision Ltd. announced that Lay Zhang will be attending the Grammys on February 10. China Music Vision, which is the exclusive partner of Grammy Awards in the country, said Lay will be attending the awards show as FM101's music ambassador.

Lay is the only artist who has received an invite from China Music Vision and FM101 to attend the show. He was also named as promotion ambassador for GRAMMY Festival China that will be held in April 2018.

The 61st Grammy Awards will be held on February 10 at Los Angeles' Staples Center. It will also broadcast live by CBS starting at 8 p.m.

Lay is the only member of EXO that is a Chinese national. He is currently promoting his third solo album NAMANANA, which was released in October 2018.  The album debuted at No. 21 at the Billboard 200 chart, making him the highest-ranking Chinese artist on the chart.

Lay made his debut in the U.S. at the music festival Lollapalooza in August 2018 where he collaborated with Alan Walker. The singer also participated in Michael Jackson's tribute single "Let's Shut Up and Dance."

Meanwhile, since Lay got an invite from Grammys, many K-pop fans are anticipating that BTS and the group's art director HuskyFox may have invited too. Many pointed out that Grammys do invite artists who are not nominated in any category. However, so far, there is still no information if BTS will attend the Grammys.

The group's Love Yourself: Tear has been nominated alongside with HuskyFox for Best Recording Package at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. The category gives recognition to outstanding album visuals. Although it is not a nod for BTS music, it still a huge milestone for K-pop as a whole.

If Tear wins the award, HuskyFox will receive the award and not the septet. Nonetheless, many are anticipating that BTS may accompany him on stage like they do when Big Hit Entertainment CEO Bang Si Hyuk or their choreographer Son Sung Deuk won awards in Korea's awards shows. A BTS performance at the Grammys could be a bonus that ARMYs around the world will surely tune in to.
