There is no best way for BTS to celebrate their recent success at the 2018 MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards but by dropping a new music video. The K-pop sensation released the MV for the Japanese version of their song "Airplane Pt.2" just hours after they won seven awards at 2018 MGAs.

The septet released their latest Japanese collection, titled Fake Love/Airplane Pt. 2, which features three tracks. It has the original version of "Fake Love," Japanese versions of "Fake Love" and "Airplane Pt.2," and a remix of the latter. The group also shared a new music video for "Airplane Pt. 2."

In the MV, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are seen singing and dancing the Latin pop-inspired single in a bar and under the rain. The song talks about the boys' hopes and dreams and their present lifestyle as global artists who are always on the road. It was written to celebrates the achievements and global reach of the band's influence. As of writing, the MV already garnered almost 3.4 million views on YouTube.

Both "Fake Love and "Airplane Pt. 2" are from the band's chart-topping album Love Yourself: Tear this year. The "Airplane Pt. 2" is also a follow up to J-Hope's song "Airplane" from his mixtape, titled Hope World.

BTS label Big Hit Entertainment first announced the release of the septet's ninth Japanese CD single in September. It was originally titled Bird/ Fake Love/Airplane Pt.2. However, Big Hit decided to pull the single "Bird" from the collection due to the controversy surrounding Japanese songwriter Yasushi Akimoto.

"Bird" features the lyrics written by Akimoto. Fans protested the song on the basis that Akimoto is being accused of misogyny and his political views regarding Japan's imperialist history was also criticized.

Meanwhile, the boys dropped the new Japanese release hours after they won seven awards, including two daesangs, at the 2018 MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards and a collaboration performance with Charlie Puth. BTS grabbed both Best Artist of the Year and Best Digital Album of the Year for "Love Yourself: Answer."

BTS also won Best Male Dance Performance, the Genie Music Popularity Award, and Best Male Group. This is the first time the group has won a popularity award, which was determined entirely by votes from fans. In addition, Big Hit Entertainment founder Bang Shi Hyuk won as Producer of the Year and Son Sung Deuk took home the Best Choreography for BTS's "IDOL."

BTS also released MV for the Japanese version of "Airplane Pt. 2" ahead of the band's comeback concert tour in the country. Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkookwill kick off the Japan leg of the Love Yourself world tour at the Tokyo Dome on Nov. 13.
