BTS & Charlie Puth To Showcase Special Collaboration Exclusively At 2018 MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards

Korean pop sensation BTS is doing another collaboration with an American artist. A few days after American music producer/DJ Steve Aoki released his collaboration with BTS, another team up is coming up for the K-pop group. This time around it will be Charlie Puth.

BTS and Puth will be doing a special collaboration that will be shown at the 2018 MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards next week. The organizers of the music award show announced that the K-pop act and Puth would be performing together at the show.

"The group BTS and the American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth are preparing to stage a collaboration performance at the 2018 MGA," a representative stated.

The "One Call Away" hitmaker is one of several artists who has expressed interest in working with BTS. The septet and Puth previously had an exchange of tweets, showing their love to the music of each other. Last year, Puth also asked the "IDOL" hitmakers to check their private messages on Twitter. This sparked speculations that they are possibly doing a song together.

Aside from BTS and Charlie Puth, other confirmed attendees at the MGA are TWICE, Wanna One, and more. The voting for the different categories of the 2018 MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards is still open. It will run until October 31. You still cast your vote here. The 2018 MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards will be held on November 6 at the Namdong Gymnasium in Incheon.

Meanwhile, K-pop awards season is indeed on. The 2018 Melon Music Awards has also officially opened its voting. MMA has kicked off its first round of voting for this year's Top 10 and revealed the list of 40 groups/artists who are nominated.

The eligible artists for this category are those who released music between December 2, 2017, and October 25, 2018. They were selected by calculating the number of downloads, streams as well as the weekly Melon Popularity Award votes.

BTS is nominated in this category along with EXO, BLACKPINK, Red Velvet, TWICE, and more. Camila Cabello is also nominated for the Top 10. Voting will run from October 26 to November 13 KST on Melon's website and mobile app. After that, the second round of category voting for specific awards will begin.

The 2018 Melon Music Awards will be held at the Gocheok Sky Dome on December 1. It will also air live via JTBC2, JTBC4, 1theK, and KakaoTV.
