'Breaking Bad' Reunion: Bryan Cranston Invites Fans To See BrBa Cast Members At The San Diego Comic-Con 2018
Walter White and Jesse Pinkman are coming back, at least in Hall H of the forthcoming San Diego Comic-Con 2018. The cast of Emmy-winning TV series Breaking Bad is finally having their much-awaited reunion next month.
Like their annual tradition years back, the Breaking Bad panel will be back at the SDCC, but this time they will talk about the show's legacy on its 10th anniversary. Bryan Cranston, who famously played the role of chemistry-teacher-turned-meth-kingpin Walter White, confirmed the Breaking Bad reunion himself in a post on Twitter. Cranston replied on Giancarlo Esposito's post about the show's anniversary and poked fun on the cast photo shoot with Entertainment Weekly.
"Hold on Gus, didn't I kill you years ago? Everyone looks so serious in this picture when moments earlier we were giddy with joy at seeing each other again. And if you're in SD come see us at comic con on July 19th! Can you believe it's been 10 years?!...," Cranston wrote on Twitter.
Aside from Cranston and Esposito (Gus Fring), other cast members who will answer fans' question during the Q&A are Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman), Anna Gunn (Skyler White), Dean Norris (Hank Schrader), and Bob Odenkirk (Saul Goodman). Betsy Brandt (Marie Schrader), Jonathan Banks (Mike Ehrmantraut), and RJ Mitte (Walter White, Jr.) will also join series creator Vince Gilligan on a panel at SDCC's Hall H on July 19 at 4:30 p.m. PT, Entertainment Weekly reported. Breaking Bad last appeared at the SDCC in 2013.
The AMC meth drama is one of the highly-acclaimed dramas of its time, winning two Outstanding Drama Series from the Primetime Emmys. It also gave Cranston four Best Actor trophies and three Supporting Actor awards for Paul. Gunn also snagged two Best Supporting Actress awards as White's wife.
Also, the first official Breaking Bad Spotify playlist will be unveiled as well on the same day. The playlist was curated by Gilligan with the help from music supervisor Thomas Golubić. Moreover, a new vinyl album with series' score highlights and a special anniversary remix of the Breaking Bad OST will also be released exclusively at the SDCC 2018.
Breaking Bad fans are thrilled about the good news and took to social media sites to share their excitement about the reunion. Many are hoping that Gilligan will announce greater news at the San Diego Comic-Con 2018, perhaps a Breaking Bad prequel.
Gilligan earlier announced that another Breaking Bad character is coming in spin-off Better Call Saul. Although the showrunner did not name the role, he assured that fans would be pleased by their surprise.
"There's a very important character from the Breaking Bad era that we're going to meet this year," Gilligan said during the Better Call Saul's Masterclass panel at the AMC Summit in New York City recently.
Better Call Saul will make its Comic-Con debut at the Hall H panel on July 19 at 3:30 p.m. PT, right before the Breaking Bad panel. Meanwhile, the series' Season 4 is set to premiere on August 6 on AMC.
