A highly-awaited performance at a music event ended in disaster after BLACKPINK was forced to leave the stage in the middle of a show. Given the furious reaction of concertgoers, the K-pop group prepared an ice cream treat for lucky fans.

The 2018 Lotte Duty Free Family Festival was a star-studded event that featured the performances of some of South Korea's hottest groups. BLACKPINK, along with BTOB, Kim Beom Su, Sunmi, Lee Moon See, B1A4, and BTS were identified as some of the performers for the said event's Friday concert. Held on June 22, avid K-pop fans flocked to Jamsil Sports Complex in Seoul to see their favorite artists on stage.

However, many of the concertgoers became disappointed with BLACKPINK's mini-show. The four-member girl group was mysteriously asked to leave the stage while in the middle of performing their hit track "Forever." Organizers decided to stop the said K-pop band's performance due to technical issues.

An announcement released shortly after BLACKPINK exited the stage made mention of the internal problems that staff members encountered during the Lotte Duty Free Family Festival show. Despite saying that the said group's performance will resume once technical issues were addressed, the "DDU-DU DDU-DU" crooners did not return to the stage.

Many of the four-member girl group's fans were disappointed with the way that Lotte Duty Free Family Festival organizers handled the situation. Highlighting the unprofessional way that the staff members took charge of BLACKPINK's performance fiasco, some fans even described the mini-concert as a horrible event.

However, BLACKPINK decided to take matters into their own hands to convey their apology to disappointed fans. The K-pop girl group prepared a sweet treat for lucky fans who attended the band's Show Music Core recording. Held on June 23, several pink-colored cups of a popular ice cream brand that boasted of special "DDU-DU DDU-DU" labels were given away.

Lotte Duty Free issued a public apology to BLACKPINK fans through the company's Instagram account on June 23. Organizers highlighted safety issues as the main reason behind the abrupt end to the said girl group's concert.
