‘Free!’ Season 3 Release Date, Synopsis, Title: The Boys Are Now In College

While Yuri on Ice is the hottest anime series on ice skating, Free! is its swimming counterpart. It is a well-received swimming-themed series with fans all over the world. In fact, the series is so popular that a Free! Season 3 is already in the works.

Free! Season 3 Release Date and Title

The swimming anime series comes with a different title for each season. The first season was titled Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club. It contained 12 episodes and was released on July 4, 2013, and ended on September 26, 2013. The second season was titled Free! - Eternal Summer and was released on July 2, 2014. It is slightly longer than the previous season with 13 episodes.

The production team finally revealed the official title for the upcoming season. It will be called Free! - Dive to the Future. While the number of episodes is not yet revealed, Free! Season 3 release date was revealed to be July, 2018 although a specific date is yet to be announced.

Free! Season 3 Plot, Synopsis

The biggest change compared to previous seasons is that Free! Season 3 will be set in college. It seems that the setting for the anime will be changed as well as the synopsis says that Haruka will meet Asahi in the Japanese Capital, Tokyo. In fact, it is highly likely that some parts of the series will be taking place in Australia as Rin is currently in Sydney. What is uncertain, however, is whether or not Nagisa and Rei will appear in the upcoming season.

The team also released a key visual for the upcoming Free! - Dive to the Future showing the characters inside a hallway which likely leads to the pool. Aside from the visual, the team also released a brief trailer along with a lengthy synopsis for the season, which can be found below.
