Unlike Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette is not getting the NCIS Season 15 finale episode for her exit. That belongs to Maria Bello. This makes many NCIS fans wonder why the Jack Sloane story will be the focus of the Season 15 finale instead of Abby Scuito's.

Both Perrette (NCIS forensics expert Abby Sciuto) and Bello (NCIS Special Agent and Operational Psychologist Jack Sloane) are series regulars. But, Perrette has been with the show since the CBS series debut in 2003. She has established a strong fan base throughout the years for portraying Abby. In comparison, Bello joined the show only this season.

In the NCIS Season 15 finale, titled "Date with Destiny," Sloane will deal with a man who held her and tortured her years ago in Afghanistan. Sloane thought he was killed following her rescue. It turns out that he is very much alive and in D.C., possibly to hunt down Sloane.

Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) and Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) fear that Sloane may do something that will put her life and career at risk just to destroy this man. The two will not let that happen. Team Gibbs will do whatever it takes to help Sloane bring down this man for good. NCIS Season 15 finale will air on May 22 on CBS.

Pauley Perrette Last Episode As NCIS Abby Scuito

When Weatherly (NCIS Special Agent Antony DiNozzo) left the show, his last appearance was in the Season 13 finale. In the said episode, DiNozzo decided to leave his squad to raise his daughter after the death of Ziva. He also had an emotional talk with Gibbs. It was a touching exit.

As for Perrette, her departure will be featured in the current season's Episode 22. This means NCIS fans will miss her in the last two episodes of the show's fifteenth installment. Both Weatherly and Perrette are among the original cast members of the long-running series.

In Perrette's last episode, titled "Two Steps Back," a member of the NCIS will be the target of a hitman. That member could be Abby. The team will search through their old cases to determine who is seeking vengeance.

It is uncertain if Perrette will be killed or written off in her final episode. Abby could be killed by the hitman or Gibbs will decide to send her to a secure location to keep her alive.

Up to this moment, Perrette remains mum about the reason for why she is leaving the show that made her famous. She previously denied speculations that she decided to leave the series because of a skincare line. However, the actress hasn't addressed the rumor that it is because of Harmon, who is also one the show's executive producers.

It is worth to note that since Season 15's premiere, Harmon and Perrette had very limited screen time together. Harmon's character, Gibbs, never sees Abby in her lab, unlike the previous seasons. In the recent episode, they only talked through the phone.

Perrette also shared some photos with her co-stars during her last day of filming. She had pictures with Sean Murray (Agent Tim McGee), Emily Wickersham (Agent Ely Bishop), Wilmer Valderrama (Agent Nick Torres), and Brian Dietzen (Medical Examiner Jimmy Palmer) but not with Harmon. Fans find it odd since Harmon and Perrette have been co-stars for 15 years and their characters have a father-and-daughter-like relationship.

All of these further fuel speculations that the tension between the two lead stars is the main reason why Perrette's decided to leave. Hence, it is interesting to see if there will be an emotional scene between Gibbs and Abby in Episode 22 like what DiNozzo and Gibbs had in Season 13.
