TVXQ Takes Nod On BTS And SEVENTEEN’s Style and Achievement

World-renowned celebrities are not the only one who admire K-pop groups like BTS and SEVENTEEN, Korean pop icons do, too. TVXQ has revealed the K-pop groups that they have high esteem for. 

During the promotion of their eighth studio album, New Chapter #1: The Chance of Love, TVXQ was asked if there are any junior K-pop groups that have caught their attention. Both Changmin and Yunho said its BTS.

TVXQ cited their admiration for Bangtan Boys' energy, especially when on stage. The duo has admitted that they also admire BTS' authenticity in their music. Yunho also believes that SEVENTEEN has great potential to reach BTS' success.

"To be honest, BTS is the first group that comes to mind. They really catch my eye because they're so good," Changmin said (via Soompi).

"There are many juniors we have our eyes on. It's hard to choose, but I really like BTS's energy and the way they take over the stage. They have authenticity. SEVENTEEN has lots of potentials, too," Yunho added.

The duo said they are also grateful to The Boyz. Yunho has revealed that the 12-member boy band cried when they saw him and Changmin. Apparently, The Boyz told TVXQ how they missed the duo.  

TVXQ New Album

New Chapter #1: The Chance of Love is already dominating music charts worldwide, less than a day after its release on Wednesday. Reports indicated that the legendary music icons have claimed the No. 1 spot on iTunes' Top Album Charts in Chile and Ecuador in South America; and Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, in Asia. The Change of Love also ranked high in music charts in some European countries.

Meanwhile, TVXQ is also preparing for their comeback concert. Their fans have waited for almost three years for their return. The TVXQ! Welcome Back Party: The Chance of Love concert will be held on May 5 and 6 at the Jamsil Sports Complex in Seoul, South Korea.

TVXQ is one of the first K-pop groups that was formed by SM Entertainment. They debut as a five-member boy band in 2003. TVXQ rose to international fame in the late 2000s. However, three members of the group - Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu left in 2010.

TVXQ has been known for their pop, rock, hip-hop, and contemporary R&B music. They have sold over 14 million records in the first decade of their career. This makes TVXQ one of the most successful music acts in Asia. Billboard has described the group as "K-pop royalty" and they were also referred to as the "Kings of K-pop."
