Samsung Might Unveil The Galaxy S9 At MWC 2018

Apple's 10th anniversary iPhone X is special and its Face ID is one of its most defining features of the device. However, latest buzz claims that Samsung is also going to put Iris Scanner to enable the Face ID feature in upcoming Galaxy S9 and S9+.

Ever since Apple announced the iPhone X, the phone has been in the limelight -- for both good and wrong reasons. Wrong, because of its Face ID feature. Hackers are reportedly exploring ways to break the Face ID -- which Apple - at the iPhone X launch claimed can be bypassed only once in 1 Million cases, according to India Today.

However, Samsung is reportedly taking these reports very seriously and planning to leave no stone unturned to fetch an enhanced iris scanner for its upcoming flagship device -- Galaxy S9. With this feature, the South Korean tech giant aims to take on the iPhone X's killer feature.

Samsung is rumored to reveal its next flagship phones aka Galaxy S9 and S9+ at MWC 2018 -- which will happen sometime around the end of February. Ahead of the official launch, a new report coming from ET News claims that Samsung Galaxy S9 lineup will boast the similar hardware setup and basic specs but the difference will be in the software department, Gadget360.

According to the previous rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S9 will come with a substrate-like PCB (SLP) motherboard, which will give space to a more significant battery pack. The SLP will be connected with major components such as DRAM, application processor, and NAND flash memory.

A recent note by KGI Securities' analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed the presence of a rear-facing dual camera setup on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9. Samsung has entered the race of dual-camera smartphones with the Galaxy Note 8 earlier this year. But the presence of two camera sensors on the next Galaxy smartphone would make a close competitor against the iPhone X that that released in September with a vertically-aligned twin camera setup.
