Girl's Day's Minah to Have Solo Comeback on November 3
Minah of Girl's Day has announced that she is having her solo comeback in early November. The singer released a few details about her upcoming single as well as teaser images that hint at a melancholy theme.
Soompi reports that Minah's agency Dream T Entertainment made the announcement of the comeback earlier today. Minah will be releasing a digital single titled "Other Way" on November 3 at 6 p.m. KST.
On the single will be a self-written track titled "11°" that will feature an old-fashioned guitar playing style to accompany Minah's vocals. She co-produced the track with Woogie. The song has been described as "emotional."
Minah is clearly going to show a different side of her entertainment personality in the new digital single. The teaser images are a far cry from the cute and sexy image of Minah that Girl's Day fans are familiar with. Here's a look at the early promotional pictures:
The gloomy images depict a very serious-looking Minah in a turtleneck and tweed jacket. She looks sad and lonely. Fan comments on One Hallyu indicate that people are surprised by the melancholy vibe of the promotion.
Minah made her solo debut on March 15, 2015, with the album "I Am a Woman Too." SBS PopAsia says that the album was moderately successful, getting to No. 15 on the Gaon Digital Chart and selling about 20,000 copies in total. That is considered a strong performance for a release by a female soloist.
Girl's Day had a comeback several months ago. In March, the group released the album "Everyday #5" along with the single "I'll Be Yours." The music video achieved over 2 million views on the day of its release on the 1theK. Billboard notes that "Everyday #5" debuted at No. 7 on the World Albums Chart, marking the first time that Girl's Day got on the Billboard chart.
