Highteen is has canceled its supposed comeback this year. The group has decided to join the cast of "Mix Nine" rather than continue with promoting its mini album. That said, the group's agency released a statement explaining their decision.
Highteen just debuted a year ago. And fans loved the group right away. But the group went on a few months of hiatus to prepare for a new album for their fans.
However, it seems as though fans should have to wait a bit longer for Highteen's latest album. The newly debuted group has been reportedly working on their first mini album titled "Teen Magic" and they are already set for their comeback.
But, they stopped all the preparations just to join the upcoming show, "Mix Nine." According to Naver, the group's agency, Illusion Entertainment confirmed the reports that the members of Highteen will join the JTBC show. Via a statement, the agency said that after a "careful consideration," the members have decided to join the said survival program.
The agency further explained that it was a hard decision for them joining the JTBC show as the members of Highteen have been preparing so much for their return, especially that they are almost set to release their first mini album. But, Illusion Entertainment said that they fully trust YG Entertainment and the network along with the administrators of the show. Because of that, the members have decided to join the show.
The agency continued and said that they believe that Highteen will make it through the competition as long as they will show their "positive, energetic, and cheerful" attitude. Moreover, if they managed to ace the audition, they will be mentored by BIGBANG member Taeyang, according to Soompi.
