After nearly five years of hiatus, English pop-rock band Busted will make a comeback for 2016 and even announced a national tour around their native UK, according to a report from Rock Sound.

In preparation for Busted's comeback in 2016, the band has been working on new music lately, according to sources. Their UK tour will be held in May next year, with scheduled performances in the following cities: London, Glasgow, Newcastle, Sheffield, Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Cardiff, Bournemouth, Belfast, and Dublin.

Busted debuted in 2000, composed of Matt Willis on vocals and bass, James Bourne on vocals and guitar, and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Simpson on vocals, guitars, keyboards, harmonica and drums.

They are best known for their songs "Year 3000," "You Said No," and their most recent hit "She Wants to Be Me." After releasing two studio albums and 10 singles together, they disbanded in 2005 as Simpson decided to focus on his other band Fightstar.

News about Busted's comeback for 2016 initially started out as rumors last month. This has been discussed for quite some time in secret, and sources say that the three original members felt that they could make new music again and "get along as friends," according to an earlier report from Mirror.

Since Simpson's departure, the remaining members continued to perform actively, collaborating with fellow band McFly to create a supergroup called McBusted in 2014. McBusted was well-received by fans and gained huge success around UK, and sources also reveal that the group's success must have influenced Simpson's decision to return to Busted.

The band announced their confirmed return to the music scene via press conference on Tuesday, Nov. 10. The band also announced their third studio album will be released as well, although there are no details yet regarding the date and track listing.

The band released a total of two studio albums, "Busted" in 2002 and "A Present for Everyone" in 2003.
