Amazon Attempts To Create Next Game Of Thrones

A few months ago, Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos issued an important notice for its creative team. The notice was to produce a drama that could match the level of "Game of Thrones".

Now, the team is following the order by moving forward with three major sci-fi shows. These shows will be an adaptation of "Ringworld", "Snow Crash" and "Lazarus".

"Ringworld" is a classic science fiction novel that was written by Larry Niven in 1970. The story revolves around a man, Louis Gridley Wu, who locates a mysterious object in space with the help of an alien. After crash-landing on the massive construct, he and his crew have to find a way to escape.

Written by Neal Stephenson, "Snow Crash" is another popular sci-fi novel that is a story of a boy is a warrior in the virtual reality world Metaverse. The boy is on a mission to find the people behind infesting players with the virus. The third adaptation- "Lazarus"- is a comic book by Greg Rucka. It shows a future world that is divided into 16 rival families and their assassins Lazarus.

With an aim to give the global audiences' a memorable show, Roy Price expressed this wish in an interview given to Variety. The increasing competition within the streaming video industry has also made it important for Amazon to have high-quality content for the viewers.

In January this year, Amazon also hired Sharon Tal Yguado as head of the event series. The main task of Sharon was to head a team focused on the development and production of big scope, big event genre series - hour-long science fiction, action, fantasy, and horror series reported Mashable.

Not just Amazon, Apple also approached co-presidents of Sony Pictures Entertainment, Jamie Erlicht, and Zack Van Amburg, to lead Apple's video programming. Ultimately they hired Matt Cherniss, who made many programs like "Sons of Anarchy", "Glee" and "Bob's Burgers".
