Park Bo Gum Reportedly a Member of Religious Cult; Actor Speaks Up
Reports are circulating online saying that Park Bo Gum is a member of a religious cult. The actor is being criticized as well for promoting his church. Now, the actor has spoken up to defend himself and his church.
Park Bo Gum has been well-received by many. He stole the fans' hearts all the more when he starred in the historical drama, "Love in the Moonlight." But now, the South Korean actor is in midst of his fans' criticisms.
According to Koreaboo, there have been numerous reports online saying that Park Bo Gum's church is just pretending to be a normal Christian association. Rumors say that the church is actually a cult. Some people believe such tittle-tattle because, for them, the church's head pastor preaches in a different way.
Some also say that the members of the church worship its leader as a god. Other say that the church is brainwashing its members - including Park Bo Gum. And some netizens are furious over the actor for supporting the said church.
Just recently, Park Bo Gum invited his followers via Twitter to join their church's activity. Some of his followers asked him to put down his tweet as they believe that the actor is endorsing the wrong church. However, some argued that it is the actor's freedom to do what he wants.
Because of that, Park Bo Gum stand his ground to defend his beliefs. He justified that he is just an "average Christian" and that the church where he goes to is neither a cult nor a different religion and nothing unusual is going on. "If that was the case, I would've left," added the actor. The "Love in the Moonlight" star continued and said that the speculations against him and his church make him sad that people see it that way.
