A Hit Or A Miss: Disney Reveals The New Cast Of 'Hocus Pocus'
After a buzz for so many years, now finally Disney has come up with a decision to remake "Hocus Pocus". Scarlett Lacey will be a writer for this new movie and David Kirschner will wear the producer's hat. Kenny Ortega, the director of the older version will not be part of this new project and neither will its original Sanderson sisters.
With an introduction to the new cast, Disney tweeted the news of remake with the picture of the new cast. PEOPLE quotes that Bette Midler, who played the role of Winifred "Winnie" Sanderson, expressed interest to work in the sequel.
During a Reddit AMA in November 2014, the singer-actress encouraged fans to "inundate the Disney Company. Because I have canvassed the girls and they are willing to do it, but we have no say in it, so if you want a "Hocus Pocus 2", ask the Walt Disney Company." Another lead actress of the 1993 hit, Sarah Jessica Parker also said that she will love to be part of the sequel reports Vanity fair.
It seems as this decision of Disney will not be accepted by the fans so easily. Therefore, within a few hours of the tweet, fans started trolling it and requested Disney better not to remake it, if they are going without the original cast. Some users requested Disney to send back the idea from where it came.
Even after so many years, "Hocus Pocus" holds a special place in the audiences' mind and heart. So it is quite obvious that they will never accept this decision of Disney.
