"20th Century Boy and Girl" Affected by MBC Strike; TV Drama Rescheduled
Fans might have to wait a little longer to see Lee Sang Woo and Han Ye Seul on screen. The upcoming K-drama "20th Century Boy and Girl" got affected by the MBC strike. Thus, the series has canceled its pilot episode's premiere.
MBC strike has not come to an end yet. Because of this, many predicted that it might affect the network's shows. Now, it is starting to happen.
According to Soompi, the "20th Century Boy and Girl" is the first television drama that got affected by the MBC strike. The series is supposed to premiere on September 25. However, due to some complications happening to the network, it has been moved to a later date. The show is now set to air its pilot episode on October 2.
Instead of airing the said drama this week, the network has decided to broadcast a mere rerun show. MBS aired "Romance Full of Life" as an alternative to "20th Century Boy and Girl." To recall, the network's show producers went on strike just last month.
MBC and KBS's PDs, reporters, and other workers from the network have teamed up to oust the channel's president, Kim Jang Gyun. Media workers also want to get rid of KBS' president Go Dae Young. The union of the networks' workers is demanding them to step down from their positions because of corruption.
As a result, some of the networks' programs were interrupted, as per Koreaboo. Aside from NBC's "20th Century Boy and Girl," "Infinite Challenge," and "Music Core"s schedule were altered. The strike also put an impact on "Happy Together," "ISAC 2017," and "Music Bank."
There is still no word as to when the programs will return to its regular programming. However, it seems as though it will not resume until both parties have agreed upon. Meanwhile, it is also unclear which drama series got affected aside from "20th Century Boy and Girl."
