Better Call Saul Season 4

The misadventures of Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) continues in "Better Call Saul" Season 4. However, it looks like fans should brace for a long wait ahead.

The third season of the "Breaking Bad" spin-off aired during the first half of 2017. The season finale graced televisions in June and, a few days later, it was renewed for a fourth season by AMC.

Like its predecessor, "Better Call Saul" has become a favorite during awards season. This year, it received a total of ten Primetime Emmys nominations including for "Outstanding Drama Series" and "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama."

However, it looks like the series will miss next year's ceremony. Deadline reports that the new season will not premiere until September 2018.

The publication did not reveal why the series' return to television will be delayed. But this will be the first time that the series will not be eligible to be nominated since it first debuted three years ago.

The delay is probably for the best. Jimmy is expected to transform into his "Breaking Bad" character Saul Goodman and, while it has not happened on-screen yet, the ties between the two series have already made themselves apparent.

In the previous season, Giancarlo Esposito reprised the role of Gustavo "Gus" Fring, fast food magnate and drug kingpin. Moreover, there are already plans to revisit the events of "Breaking Bad" in the perspective of Saul Goodman.

"In 'Breaking Bad,' we only saw Saul at work, which makes sense because he was working for Walter and that was his value and purpose," Odenkirk told The Hollywood Reporter. "But if we're going to get to know him as well as we have in Saul, perhaps some of those sequences in 'Breaking Bad,' we might get to see behind Saul's story a little more."

The ten episodes of "Better Call Saul" Season 4 will air sometime in 2018. Catch the first three seasons on Netflix.
