'Shadowhunters' Season 3: 'Arrow' Star Cast As Lilith?
After defeating Valentine Morgenstern (Alan Van Sprang), the fight for peace in the Shadow World still continues in "Shadowhunters" Season 3. According to rumors on the web, the urban fantasy series on Freeform has already found the actress who will play the role of the big bad in the upcoming season.
To recall, the second season finale that aired earlier this year teased the arrival of a more powerful enemy: Lilith, the first demon, and mother to the real Jonathan Morgenstern (Will Tudor). While viewers heard her voice, she still has not appeared on the small screen.
Freeform is yet to announce who will play the role of Lilith in "Shadowhunters" Season 3, but there are rumors that the series has already cast its big bad. According to Blasting News, Anna Hopkins will join the television adaptation of Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instruments" next year.
The information comes from Twitter where a fan page named Shadowhunters Poland (@TMINewsPL) revealed that Hopkins is set to play Lilith in the upcoming season. However, so far, neither Freeform nor representatives of the actor has confirmed her involvement in the series.
If true, Hopkins would be a great addition to the cast of "Shadowhunters." The actor has recurred in The CW's "Arrow" where she played the role of Samantha Clayton, Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) ex-girlfriend and the mother of his child. Other notable works include the TV series "Defiance" and 2015 romantic-comedy "After The Ball."
Season 3 of the fantasy series starring Katherine McNamara as Clary and Dominic Sherwood as Jace has already started filming this month. An announcement regarding Lilith's casting is likely just around the corner.
Hidden Remote added that Lilith is expected to appear in the first half of the upcoming season. In fact, fans might see her up close by the premiere episode!
"Shadowhunters" Season 3 will be an adaptation of "City of Fallen Angels," the fourth book from "The Mortal Instruments." The series will return to television sometime in 2018 on Freeform.
