Black Pink Update: New 'As If It’s Your Last' Achievements and Japanese Debut

Black Pink's "As If It's Your Last" continues to break records and achievements even if they have finished promotions last month. The song is the only K-pop Music Video included in YouTube's "Top 25 Songs of the Summer" Global Chart. Black Pink joined artists like Luis Fonsi ("Despacito") and Ed Sheeran ("Shape of You").

"As If It's Your Last" is also the record holder of the fastest K-pop group to hit 100 million views after just 48 days as stated by Soompi. The milestone was reached last August 7, just a day before Black Pink's first anniversary. The previous record was held by "TT" by Twice that reached the achievement in 71 days. All the other music videos of Black Pink, "Boombayah", "Whistle" and "Playing with Fire" have more than 100 million views as well.

Black Pink is the latest girl group launched by YG Entertainment that launched powerful artists like Big Bang, 2NE1, and Winner. The group only debuted last August 2016 but has been making noise not only in Korea but to international fans as well. The diversity in the group makes it easier to address international fans. Most members can speak English fluently and Lisa is the only Thai member.

Black Pink was also launched in Japan last July 20 where they had a debut showcase in Nippon Budokan, Tokyo. The venue holds more than 10,000 seats and usually reserved for top artists. Their official Japanese debut album was released on August 30, where they topped the Daily Oricon Chart.  By September 4, the album topped the Oricon Weekly Album Chart, making the group the third foreign artist to top the weekly chart with their debut release. Previously, Russian duo, t.A.T.U, and 2NE1 also topped the weekly chart.

Truly, Black Pink is another group everyone has eyes on. Their fans, "Blinks" are now waiting for the announcement of their next release. They hope YG Entertainment won't make them wait too long.
