The first Harry Potter prequel, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" released its first teaser, as a magazine cover for Entertainment Weekly, according to the Entertainment Weekly website. The photo in the cover features Eddie Redmayne as the magizoologist Newt Scamander, along with other items that could serve as clues about the film.

The film follows Newt on his adventure in New York in the 1920s, probably as a part of his search of the magical beasts. Entertainment Weekly reports that the cover is a picture of Newt in front of the Magical Congress of the United States of America, the counterpart of the Ministry of Magic in the Harry Potter series. His purpose for the visit is still unknown, but in an accompanying picture gallery by Entertainment Weekly, Newt is seen wandering streets and buildings alike.

The Harry Potter sequel "Fantastic Beasts" is based on the textbook created by JK Rowling about the Hufflepuff magizoologist who is travelling all over the world to find magical creatures.

With the teaser released, some people have raised their speculations on what the film is about based on the cover. The first clue about the film is Newt's location. Newt could be on "official" business, since he is coordinating with a government branch for magic in the United States, as pointed out by Radio Times.

Another interesting clue is the pair of golden statues in the background. The birds appear to be phoenixes, just like Dumbledore's pet Fawkes, as reported by Radio Times. Since this is a prequel, the phoenix could be one of the fantastic beasts that that film talks about.

Radio Times also scrutinized Newt's equipment and outfit. The wand he is using is light colored, similar to Hermione Granger's vine wood wand. In a separate article, Radio Times pointed out Newt's outfit in the Harry Potter prequel "Fantastic Beasts" teaser is similar to that of Matt Smith's purple tweed Dr. Who ensemble.
