Vikings Season 5

Ivar the Boneless (Alex Hogh Andersen) does not feel sorry for killing his brother. In a new "Vikings" Season 5 teaser, the sons of Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) convene and talk about the actions of their temperamental youngest born that led to the murder of Sigurd (David Lindstrom).

The fifth season of History's critically-acclaimed period drama will open with the funeral of Sigurd, the third son of Ragnar and Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland). To recall, in the previous, Ivar and his brothers got into a heated argument about who will stay at home to farm while the others continue to raid. Ivar obviously wants to go out and follow the footsteps of his father Ragnar, but his brothers, especially Sigurd, question his leadership. The argument ended with an axe lodged in Sigurd's chest.

However, Ivar does not think that he was at fault. In the short "Vikings" Season 5 teaser published by TV Guide, the young Viking argues that Sigurd brought his death upon himself.

"I know what you're all thinking, but it is not true," Ivar tells his brothers. "I didn't mean to kill him. He made me kill him. He taunted me, he made fun of me, what was I supposed to do? What kind of a man taunts and tells lies about his own brother?"

Unfortunately for Ivar, his brothers are not convinced that his conscience is clear so he offered a real apology. Aslaug's youngest born told his brothers that he did not mean to kill his own brother.

"Anger overcame me. And I wasn't thinking," he states. "I am truly sorry."

Despite his apology, Ivar does not seem to guilty about killing Sigurd, nor too concerned about the possibility of causing more conflicts within his family. In fact, in the "Vikings" Season 5 trailer below, Ivar wages a war against Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) and his brothers in the hopes of ascending as the new King of Kattegat. "Vikings" Season 5 premieres on Nov. 29 on History.
