‘Bride Of The Water God’ Updates: Nam Joo Hyuk Unveils What He Hates About New Drama
tvN's new series "Bride of the Water God" is off to a promising start with TV ratings at a steady level. Recently, Nam Joo Hyuk revealed some interesting details about the drama including the scenes that he hated to film given his personal phobia.
"Bride of the Water God" gave avid K-drama lovers another TV series to fawn over given its intriguing plot, beautiful cinematography, and a star-studded cast. With its fantasy genre, viewers can expect to see scenes showcasing the special powers and abilities of its supernatural characters that may even require its cast to perform aerial stunts. However, filming the said stunts is one thing that worries lead star Nam Joo Hyuk.
In a recent V Live event, Nam Joo Hyuk confessed that his fear of heights made him wary to film scenes that would require him to be lifted up in the air using stunt wires. Recounting a few scenarios in "Bride of the Water God" where he had to complete an aerial stunt, Lee Sung Kyung's boyfriend admitted that he found the said filming activities scary and difficult, Sports Donga quoted the actor as saying.
Nam Joo Hyuk even conveyed a special request to the "Bride of the Water God" writer during the said V Live interview. Highlighting his fear of heights, the "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" star shared how he wished that the writer would hear about his phobia in the hopes that it will help lessen scenes that would potentially require aerial stunts.
"Bride of the Water God," tells the story of the water god Ha Baek and his human servant So Ah as he travels to the mortal world to complete a quest that will strengthen his claim as ruler of all the realms. Portrayed by Nam Joo Hyuk and Shin Se Kyung, respectively, viewers will also see a love line forming between the two stars' characters.
Meanwhile, the Nam Joo Hyuk starrer posted strong ratings during its debut broadcast week. "Bride of the Water God" episodes 1 and 2 registered nationwide viewership shares of 3.7 percent and 3.2 percent, according to Nielsen Korea.
