‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Emilia Clarke: Feminism Is Like Racism
Known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO series "Game of Thrones," Emilia Clarke is one of the biggest TV stars of today. In a recent interview, the actress compared sexism with racism.
"I feel so naive for saying it," Clarke told Rolling Stone. "But it's like dealing with racism."
In the interview with the publication, Clarke acknowledged that she gets treated differently because she is a woman although she did not necessarily mention that she was mistreated in "Game of Thrones." It took her a long to see it and it is part of her daily life, she said.
Clarke is just one of the many actresses in the main cast of "Game of Thrones" Season 7, which will premiere on July 16 on HBO. Lena Headey, Carice van Houten, Indira Varma, Sophie Turner, Nathalie Emmanuel, Maisie Williams, Gwendoline Christie and Hannah Murray are also reprising their respective roles as Cersei Lannister, Melisandre, Sansa Stark, Missandrei, Arya Stark, Brienne of Tarth and Gilly.

Their respective roles are Tyrion Lannister, Jamie Lannister, Jon Snow, Petyr Baelish, Davos Seaworth, Sandor Clegane, Varys, Theon Greyjoy, Samwell Tarly, Tormund Giantsbane, Bran Stark, Bronn and Jorah Mormont.
Days before the premiere of "Game of Thrones" Season 7, fans have been eager to look for spoilers from the cast. Instead of giving details of what fans can expect from the upcoming season of the HBO series, Harington discussed how the show is perceived considering the world politics.
"Westeros maybe feels like a nice escapism compared to what you're seeing on the news ," Harington told Time. Recently, the world's politics has become extremely dark, the actor added.
In addition, Harington talked about the challenges faced by the HBO show's production. When it comes to on-location filming, the production has had a challenge looking for fittingly wintery environments, the actor revealed.
