Netizens are reacting negatively to what they perceived as a very light sentence for the female trainee involved in BIG BANG rapper T.O.P.'s marijuana case. The trainee, identified as Han Seo Hee received her sentence after her first trial date.

According to a report by Soompi, the Seoul Central District Court has sentenced female trainee Han Seo Hee to four years of probation with the possibility of a three-year jail sentence in case she violates the terms of her probation. The trainee was also ordered to pay a fine worth 870,000 won or roughly $770 USD.

Aside from the probation and the fine, the court also required her to attend 120 hours of drug rehabilitation. Han Seo Hee was charged with the violation of South Korea's Act on the Management of Narcotic Drugs.

"She purchased psychotropic drugs LSD and marijuana many times and used/smoked them. She even purchased marijuana again while she was being investigated," the court stated in their decision on the trainee's case. "She has admitted to her crimes and is remorseful. The fact that she does not have a prior criminal record was taken into consideration."

Meanwhile, netizens commenting on the thread said that the court was way too lenient with Han Seo Hee given that she was a repeat offender. While the court cited that the respondent was remorseful for her actions, netizens observed that purchasing marijuana while she was being investigated does not constitute remorseful behavior at all.

It can be recalled that female trainee Han Seo Hee was picked up by authorities for using marijuana and during questioning, she dropped the name of BIG BANG's T.O.P. as the person who accompanied her while she did marijuana. T.O.P. who was deployed as a conscripted police officer with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's band unit was tested positive for marijuana during a hair follicle test performed by police in March. T.O.P's case has been forwarded to the prosecutor's office and has set the first trial date on June 29, All Kpop reported.
