SM Entertainment's newest idol group has been making headlines recently. NCT just kicked off their comeback with the release of their new album. The group has now been gaining international attention when it landed a spot on Apple Music’s charts.

Apple Music revealed their pick for “New Artist for the Week” and the new spot goes to NCT 127. The group is one of the newest idol act in South Korea’s thriving music and entertainment industry. NCT 127 taking a spot on Apple Music’s weekly highlights on new artists made them the first Korean pop artist to be given such recognition. The group debuted last year but they are already making big news.

The group recently released their third and latest mini album, which they call NCT #127 Limitless and it consists of seven tracks but they are promoting their title track, “Cherry Bomb”. The title song was recently swarmed with controversy when KBS banned it for its lyrics because it did not pass the broadcast regulations. SM Entertainment refused to change the lyrics and instead decided not to promote the song on the said network.

Despite the controversy surrounding “Cherry Bomb”, NCT 127’s new album still landed on several various international music charts including Peru, Norway, and Finland so it’s no surprise Apple Music recognized them. This proves that regardless of broadcast regulations, their music continues to catch attention all over the world. Members Mark and Taeyong worked on the lyrics of “Cherry Bomb” and four other songs on the album. The group revealed that they worked hard on their new comeback that they even made sure that they were satisfied with their album jacket photos.

NCT debuted with three different units and all of them have already been introduced. The total members of the group add up to 15 and they have been promoting with their respective units. NCT 127’s “Cherry Bomb” music video was revealed on June 14 and it has already gathered more than five million views.
