“Sherlock” Season 5 News Update: Release Won’t Happen Anytime Soon

There has been a series of speculations regarding the release of "Sherlock" Season 5. Despite its recently-concluded fourth installment, fans are still wondering as to when the famous detective would return in the small screen. Sources told that even the artists of the show share different sentiments with regards to the upcoming season. When could "Sherlock" Season 5 be released in the market?

There is no doubt that "Sherlock" Season 5 is one of the highly anticipated and most sought-after installments to date. But as for Martin Freeman, there is still uncertainty as to when the show would be released. On the other hand, Steven Moffat admitted that he would be quite surprised if BBC won't renew the show, which Benedict Cumberbatch reveals that he won't stop until he sees the detective on the small screen once again.

In an interview made with Andrew Scott, he confirmed that "Sherlock" Season 5 is really possible. However, with Cumberbatch and Freeman's work commitments and hectic schedules, delaying the launch of the series should be expected. According to Independent, the actor even jokingly admitted that general election would come first before people would actually see the fifth installment of the hit show. As he stated:

 "We're not doing [Sherlock] for another couple of years. Everybody got quite busy, you know? You want to keep it fresh and stuff like that."
