Twice & Sistar Excluded From MCountdown Voting

MCountdown is being scrutinized for its decision to take out Sistar and Twice on next week's pre-voting. While Twice have been promoting for the last two weeks, Sistar just came back with their final track before they officially disband. Twice has even won two times in previous shows. However, the music program made a decision to exclude the two girl groups from next week's voting.

Sistar is expected to be the frontrunner for next week's show as their final single as a group, 'Lonely' is topping all music charts since its release earlier this week. Twice's 'Signal' has also achieved an all-kill, consistently ranking 1st on several music charts. Basically, the two groups are strong contenders to win on next week's show. Despite that, Mnet did not include them in the preliminary line-up for MCountdown. When asked to clarify this decision, Mnet explained, "If they have finished music broadcasts, they will be dropped as a candidate for the online pre-vote." This means that if the artists stop promoting on the show, they will not be included in the list of candidates.

Fans became upset and pointed out that only Twice and Sistar are being excluded when other artists such as PSY, CHEEZE, and Urban Zakapa have all wrapped up their promotions yet were still in the running for the nomination. It is worth noting that voting continued from June 2 to June 5. Online pre-voting is part of MCountdown's criteria for preference points, which makes up 10% of the total score. Mnet's score breakdown is 50% digital sales, 15% album sales, 15% social media points, 10% pre-voting, and 10% live voting. Because Sistar's latest single is just a digital song, they will lose 25% of the total score if they are removed from the pre-voting category. This has angered many fans, demanding for a clarification as to why only the two groups were singled out.
