PSY Is First Asian Artist To Reach 10 Million Subscribers On Youtube

PSY made history when his "Gangnam Style" became the first video to reach 1 billion views in the history of youtube. And now, he is making history happen again as he became the first Asian artist to have 10 million subscribers on the streaming platform.

Based on a Soompi report, YouTube recently awarded PSY with a Diamond Play Button, an honor given to youtube accounts who reach 10 million subscribers. PSY was followed by his 10 millionth subscriber last May 29.

"This is a true honor.  YouTube has been an excellent platform and a 'bridge' that has allowed me to extend my decade-long career as a singer in foreign countries as well," PSY said in a video thanking youtube for the honor. He also credited the streaming platform for allowing him and his music to reach his fans from all over the world.

PSY's "Gangnam Style" has reached 2.8 billion views and continues to amass a great number of views on PSY's Youtube. PSY's "Gentleman" has breached the 1 billion view mark recently. PSY continues to churn out fresh hits with his other hits like "Daddy" and recent all kills "I Luv It" and "New Face."

PSY recently released his 8th studio album "4 x 2 = 8" which featured songs like "I Luv It" and "New Face." Also included in the album is PSY's repeat collaboration with Tablo, who worked with him on "Gangnam Style." This time around, they came out with the track "Auto Reverse." PSY also collaborated with "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" star Lee Sung Kyung, for the track "Last Scene." Fellow YG artists B.I. and Bobby or iKON will also be featured on the track "Bomb." BIG BANG's G-Dragon for "Fact Assault" and Taeyang for the track "Love" were also featured on the album, Kpopstarz reported.
