Apple Unveils New iPad Models

iPad Mini 5 is rumored to be discontinued. This comes as a bad news to all iPad Mini lovers, as latest reports claim that  Apple plans to phase out the iPad Mini.

iPad Mini 5 Will Unlikely Happen - The iPad Mini 5 may no longer happen if reports suggesting that Apple may phase out the 7.9-inch tablet proves to be true. However, it is not clear when exactly the iPad Mini-phase out would begin, or if the tech giant will continue selling the iPad Mini 4 for a period of time with no further updates, even the likelihood of just taking the tablet off the market.

iPad Mini 5 discontinuance, meantime, started when Apple stopped the production of iPad Mini 4 32GB model this year following the rollout of the new 9.7-inch iPad. With the lack of details regarding the much awaited iPad Mini 5, there are speculations that iPad Mini 4 may be the last of its kind. Incidentally, the end of iPad Mini series follows the iPad Air, which was also discontinued by Apple, although rumors claim that the tech giant may rebrand the iPad Mini as iPad Pro Mini.

Meanwhile, the iPad Mini sales are believed to have been affected by the launch of iPhone 6 Plus two years following the introduction of iPad Mini in 2012. According to an Apple insider, the bigger smartphones seem to kill the mini tablets, Network World reported.

iPad Mini's Market Share Now Captured By iPhone 7 Plus - The market share of iPad Mini has now been captured by iPhone 7 Plus, as users prefer to have the feature-packed smartphone over the entry-level tablet. Considering the uncertainty surrounding its sales, reports suggest that Apple will likely discontinue the selling of iPad Mini without any further updates. Clearly, the trouble sales figures of the tablet have hit the rock bottom, prompting the tech giant to consider discontinuing it, Forbes reported.
