Jang Geun Suk To Make Controversial Movie Comeback With Kim Ki Duk's 'The Time Of Humans'
Fans of Jang Geun Suk, rejoice! It has been confirmed that "the Royal Gambler" will be making his big screen comeback after six years via the movie "The Time of Humans." And it's not just any role. The actor is said to be making a major transformation for his new role.
According to a report by Soompi, his agency, Tree J Company has confirmed that the actor has signed on to be part of the cast of the controversial film. He is also going to be portraying a character that is violent and impulsive.
In his statement, Jang Geun Suk said that he is excited to be working with director Kim Ki Duk on such an interesting project. "It's been a long time since I've appeared in a movie, and it's an honor to work with director Kim Ki Duk. I decided on this film because I thought it would be interesting to portray a character that just acts on impulse," he explained.
It has earlier been reported by Korea Portal that Kim Ki Duk Films offered Jang Geun Suk the role for the film which revolves around the "symbolic and metaphorical representation of the history of man." Director Kim Ki Duk himself admitted that the film will delve around some controversial concepts and is expected to cause a stir in Korea but everywhere.
It has not been made clear what Jang Geun Suk's role in "The Time of Humans" will be. However, it will definitely be different from his role in his last film "You're My Pet" way back in 2011.
Jang Geun Suk is already set to film by the final week of May. He will be joining talented cast members Ahn Sung Ki and "The Unjust" star Ryoo Seung Bum who have earlier been included in the final cast of the movie.
